Bike Tube
Tioga Mountain Bike Tube 26x1.75
If you live locally, we can change the tube on your bicycle at either our
Kippa-Ring or Strathpine Stores for the following labor charges:
Wheel Only: $5 (does not include tube or tyre)
Wheel On Bike: $10 (does not include tube or tyre)
Directions:
Ensure the tube size is correctly matched to the tyre size before inserting in the tyre.
Check the inner surface of the tyre for any defects, protrusions, rust, debris or sharp objects.
Ensure that the rim is not bent. Always use a rim strip to cover all spoke heads.
Slightly inflate the tube to give it some shape. One side of the tyre
should be mounted on the rim. Take great care to feed the valve stem
through the hole in the rim and seat it into the rim before feeding the
tube into the tyre cavity.
With your hands, remount the other side of the tye by working around the
rim... avid using tools - especially DO NOT use a screwdriver as you
may damage the bead or sidewall of the tyre or cause a pinch hole in the
tube.
When you have completely fitted the tyre, and made sure the valve stem
is correctly seated, partially inflate the tube until the tyre takes
shape. check that the tyre bead is evenly seated on both sides of the
rim.
Inflate the tyre to the correct pressure.
PUNCTURES ARE COMMON...
Carry tyre changing tools, a hand pump and a spare tube when you ride.
CHECK THE PRESSURE...
Regularly check you tyre pressure and inflate when necessary. This will make your tyres last longer and your ride safer.
STILL NOT SURE..?
If you have any doubts about tyre changing or cycling in general ask a professional at your local bicycle shop.
