80% of teenage boys ride BMX bikes, and the question most parents ask is why? It is a bit of a quandry for parents as, on the face of it, they don’t seem to be very practical, but the fact of it is that they are designed to be practical and to cope with every day life (in teenage terms).

For a teenage boy every day life usually consists of jumping as many gutters on the way to school as possible, skidding around every corner, there are dirt jums to go over, skateboard parks to ride… you get the idea right. BMX bikes are built to cope with this type of riding, they build them to be strong.

There are different styles and they come in different sizes. The main things to be clear on before you front up to the store is, how will the bike be used and treated, how long does it need to last and roughly how much do you want to spend.
